Well.... here we are in Kathmandu... along with a change in plans... This trip will be strictly Nepal - Tibet will have to wait. We spent a day in Bangkok and went for a crazy rickshaw ride, watched a muy thai kickboxing fight, and saw a number of temples. And it was dirt cheap. Kathmandu is unlike anything i have ever seen. The city is completely out of control... and i love it. Narrow streets, crazy drivers, and masses of people all in the shadow of the Himalaya. We fly to Lukla tomorrow to begin the trek along the Khumbu valley to Mt. Everest base camp.
